As a result, contemporary poets organized their knowledge and thoughts in the form of image and formal schemas in light of the achievements of other sciences, such as the cognitive science. Image schemas are meaningful structures and emerging patterns that are formed through sensory experiences and interaction with the environment. The motion schema is one of the most important and widely used types of image schemas, which involve structural metaphors, and has three origins: path, source, and goal. The purpose of this research is to introduce the concept of motion schema and to determine its role in conveying the themes in the poetry of Wadih Sa'adeh. The research data has been obtained from the collection of poems of Wadih Sa'adeh using the documentary research method and analyzed using the descriptive-analytical method. The results of the research show that the motion schema is used in different forms despite the predominance of motionlessness in Wadih's poetry. In addition, the migration and geographical displacement of the poet has resulted in the high frequency of the motion schema and the poet has used this type of schema to express his philosophical and literary thoughts and personal and poetic worldviews by observing the subjects and their developments.
