The author in each story highlights one or two narrative elements and draws a story based on it. The short story "under the canopy" (under Almazalla) from the famous Egyptian writer Najib Mahfouz is considered to be a contemporary Arabic storyline by presenting a confused and metaphorical metaphor and third-person perspective or external focus. In the modern story, the associations of the mind of the writer, are the basis for the separation of episodes and irrelevant episodes. By presenting this technique, the author has been able to show the importance and centrality of Palestine in the Arab world, and the issue of occupation and proletarian wars with fantasy images, and the meaning of loneliness and passivity of society. نگاه ساختارشناسانه به ادبیات داستانی و بررسی عناصر تشکیل­دهنده متن و کشف الگوی پیوند آنها و گشودن رمزهای بارگذاری شده در متن، زمینه های درک بهتر و کاملتر از متن را فراهم می آورد. نویسنده در هر داستان، یک یا دو عنصر داستانی را برجسته­تر می­کند و الگوی داستانی خود را بر مبنای آن ترسیم می­کند. داستان کوتاه «زیر سایبان» (تحت المظلة) از نویسنده مشهور مصری نجیب محفوظ با ارائه پیرنگ به هم ریخته و مکان استعاری و زاویه دید سوم شخص عینی یا کانونی­گر بیرونی، از داستانهای مدرن عربی محسوب می­شود. در داستان مدرن، تداعی‌های ذهن نویسنده، شالوده­ای برای بازگویی اپیزودهای جدا و نامرتبط است. نویسنده با ارائه این تکنیک توانسته است اهمیت و مرکزیت فلسطین در جهان عرب و مسئله اشغالگری و جنگ­های نیابتی را با تصاویری فانتزی نشان بدهد و بر معنا باختگی و انفعال جامعه عربی تأکید کند. نسبی­گرایی، بی­زمانی، پاردوکس، آشنایی زدایی و غافلگیری از نوآوری­ای نجیب محفوظ در این داستان به شمار می­آید. https://jalc.sbu.ac.ir/article_98300_8e4803d8daecd60059d6ec09c21d38ff.pdf
