Abstract
Dealing with human personality and psychological issues, including the issue of grief and trauma, is one of the catchy topics that today's writers try to bring the audience along with them. In fact, the subject of mourning and trauma is one of the basic challenges in human life and it involves his emotions and thoughts for a period of time. One of the practical and scientific theories for counseling and guidance in passing this stage is James William Worden's bereavement homework theory. he considers four stages, namely "accepting the reality of loss", "getting over the pain of grief", "adjusting to the environment without the deceased" and "changing the place of the deceased emotionally" for bereaved people, and by applying these stages, he Adapting to a world without the deceased guides. The psychological novel of Nescafia with al-Sharif al-Razi by Miyada Khalil, is one of the novels that can be fully adapted to the theory of mourning tasks. In this novel, different Iraqi and Dutch characters are involved with the subject of mourning and show different reactions. The current research tries to analyze in a descriptive-analytical way and relying on the theory of mourning assignments, the mental and emotional states of one of the main characters of the story, named David, in relation to the mourning of his Iraqi wife Salma.
